The pressure exerted through a military operation in the region led to the release of five men who were allegedly held by a residual organized armed group.

Troops of the Seventh Brigade of the National Army, within the framework of the Ayacucho Plan and in compliance with the constitutional mission, rescued five people who were kidnaped under the modality of extortive kidnapping. Based on information collected by the authorities, the criminal action would have been perpetrated by the residual Organized Armed Group, substructure 39.

The five male workers of a company, were rescued in a farm in the village Tillavá, municipality of Puerto Gaitán, Meta, where the troops arrived once they had knowledge of the action through the denunciation.

A van in which the five workers were traveling was stolen and it is presumed that the individuals who committed the possible kidnapping fled in it, once they noticed the work of the soldiers of the National Army in the sector.

As part of the harmonious collaboration conducted by the Institutions, the troops are being guided to find the stolen car and the alleged perpetrators of the kidnapping.

The rescued were taken to the facilities of the Special Energy and Road Battalion No.15, and were subsequently taken by the company for which they work, in order to proceed with the relevant legal procedures.
