Bicentenary Heroes evacuate in helicopter a newborn baby who was struggling to live.

The marvelous operation undertaken by the soldiers of the Task Force Quiron and National Army Aviator Soldiers became a true race against the clock, for saving the life of a baby who was born premature with only 27 weeks of gestation, and who urgently required neonatal care.

Arauquita was where this operation began, an operation that sought to keep alive the baby of only four hours born and thanks to the timely reaction and coordination by the Special Energy and Roads Battalion No. 1 of the Eighteenth Brigade and the Aviation Mobility and Maneuver Battalion No.8 of the Aviation and Air Assault Division, transfer him from the San Lorenzo Hospital in Arauquita, to the capital city of the Department, where an ambulance was waiting to take him to the San Vicente Hospital in Arauca.

Since the call was received, the crew of the helicopter HUEY II EJC 5401 of the Army Aviation flew to receive the child along with the medical personnel, responsible for his care; it was a humanitarian operation that led to save the baby who now receives the specialized medical assistance being stable.

The mother of the minor was put under medical care in Arauquita. The transfer and the care of the baby were in charge of his aunt and a medical group. "I thanks first God and the National Army for having listened to us and saved the life of our child, without their help nothing would have been possible," says the child's aunt.
