Thanks to the work carried out by the men of the Quiron Task Force, in coordination with the Civil Defense, the Volunteer Fire Department of the municipalities of Tame, and Cravo Norte, department of Arauca, it was possible to carry out several operations that led to extinguish fires that were reported in the different zones of these municipalities.
In the first operation, during four hours, this maneuver was carried out, involving more than 34 men belonging to the platoon of assistance and prevention of disasters, who arrived at the surroundings of the Gustavo Vargas airport to extinguish the flames that had spread quickly by several hectares.
In the second operation, thanks to the civic participation network in the municipality of Cravo Norte, the soldiers of the bicentenary worked hard for several hours to extinguish the forest fire that had arisen in eight hectares of areas surrounding the Villa Llano neighborhood of this municipality. At the same time, the soldiers alerted 12 families living near the sectors and evacuated 80 heads of cattle and 12 horses, thus achieving to mitigate this risk and safeguard the good physical condition and property of the inhabitants.
The National Army calls on the community to prevent burnings, burning fires and not leaving matches, cigarette butts or bottles that generate fires in the forests, contributing in this way to the protection of natural resources, since during this time there are more cases of forest emergencies.
