In response to the emergency caused by rains that is hitting different sectors of Villavicencio, the men and women of the Fourth Division of Colombian National Army, through their Military Engineer units, are carrying out humanitarian and support operations to the local authorities to mitigate the impact of the heavy rains.
The Engineer Battalion No. 7 General Carlos Albán Estupiñán, of the Fourth Division, has led, together with the Mayor's Office of Villavicencio and in coordination with the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management, the damage assessment in the hit areas. This accompaniment has been key to prioritize response operations and increase the security of communities.
In parallel, the Battalion of Engineers of Assistance and Prevention of Disasters No.80 carries out technical tasks of mud and debris removal in the Juan Pablo II sector of the city, in coordination with the Risk Management Office of the department of the Meta department. These works seek to recover the habitability and minimum conditions of mobility and healthiness in the areas.
