The National Army supports vulnerable communities in Medellín with food baskets

photo-2020-03-28-06-26-12.jpg

Troops of the National Army in military operations of Defense Support to the Civil Authority, with the support of the National Police, and responding to the order of the Presidency of the Republic and the Ministry of Defense, put at the service of the communities their logistical and service capacities to contribute in solidarity in this situation of crisis due to the coronavirus.

These operations to restore essential services are being carried out especially in vulnerable sectors, in the northeastern vulnerable neighborhoods of Medellín, such as the Santo Domingo Sabio, Manrique Oriental and Campo Valdez, among others. There, the soldiers distributed 200 food baskets to different families.

In the same way, prevention procedures and good practices are presented to prevent the spread of COVID-19, this implies reminding people of their permanent commitment to wash their hands and carry out aseptic activities.

The units of the Seventh Division of the Army in the departments of Antioquia, Córdoba and Chocó, and part of Sucre, Santander and Boyacá, will in the same way carry out activities in solidarity and support for civilians, through the institutional work with the departmental and local governments.
