As a continuous operation to protect the inhabitants of the region, for more than five years, the Colombian Navy has been carrying out humanitarian demining work. During the patrols of control and detection of this lethal weapons, the military units found and destroyed two explosive devices, in the department of Bolívar.

The first device that was detected by Manual Demining Techniques, at the Santo Domingo farm, in the municipality of El Salado, was made with 1.5 kilograms of explosives, which is considered an Antipersonnel Mine, which has a detonating charge that is activated by the proximity, presence or contact of a person.

Similarly, the Humanitarian Demining Company of the National Navy, found in a farm in the village of El Bongal, in the municipality of Zambrano, in the department of Bolivar, an unexploded ammunition, a mortar shell of great destructive capacity.
