300 kilos of Anfo-type explosives were found by Troops of the Colombian Navy and the National Army in a joint operation in the Buenaventura District.

Thanks to information provided by the Citizen Participation Network, troops of the navy Infantry River Battalion No.24, units of the Explosives of the Demining Company No.2, attached to the navy Infantry Brigade No.2 and troops of the Battalion of High Mountain No.3 of the National Army, could find three hideouts with explosives that had been abandoned on a road near the Buenaventura airport.

The hideouts that apparently contained fish concealed 300 kilos of Anfo-type explosives and two tubes of explosive Pentofex inside. This highly dangerous explosive material is characterized by having a high density, speed and detonation pressure, it is used to carry out illegal mining activities and possible terrorist attacks on infrastructure, on civilians. It also causes serious damages in the urban area of the Buenaventura District.

The material that apparently belonged to the Organized Armed Group ELN, was removed of the area and after complying with the established protocols and procedures, it was destroyed under controlled conditions by the Company of Explosives and Demining No.2.
