Navy of Colombia and CTI find cocaine hydrochloride in the Gulf of Morrosquillo

In a maritime patrol and control operation, the Rapid Reaction Units of the Coast Guard Station of Coveñas conducted the inspection of the motorboat "Melissa", which covered the route Cartagena - Sapzurro, without the required documentation, so It was taken, along with its crew, to the Coast Guard Station of Coveñas, where upon inspecting it with an anti-narcotics dog, it was discovered it transported 150 rectangular packages, with what appeared to be narcotic substances inside a hidden compartment, in the cargo compartment.

 

Units of the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office carried out the Preliminary Initial Test, leaving positive results for 155.6 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.

 

The illegal substance belonged to the Organized Criminal Group, GAO, known as “Clan del Golfo”, which with the support of a Central American drug trafficking structure, sought to commercialize this drug in the international black market; now, they will not receive more than 5.2 million dollars.

 

The alkaloid and the seven crew members of the ship were put into custody of the authorities for prosecution.
