This year, the Pacific Naval Force has managed to find more than 9,965 cubic meters of wood.

In the course of security operations carried out by the units of the Buenaventura Coast Guard station, attached to the Pacific Naval force, it was possible to arrest a boat sailing in the Agua Clar sector, in the Bay of the Buenaventura District, illegally transporting wood.

At the time of the search, the crew of these ships did not have the safe conduct for the transport of this natural resource.

The 7.74 cubic metres of wood equivalent to 1,200 slats, the boat and crew, were carried to the pier of the coast Guard Station in Buenaventura, where they were put into custody of officials of the Autonomous Regional Corporation of Valle del Cauca.

“We will continue to carried out operations, which will help to protect the environment, in order to ensure the legal use and protection of natural resources; we invite the community who carry out activities of extraction of resources, to comply with the regulations established by the National Government, as well as porting the respective permits and documentation issued by regional environmental corporations,” said the lieutenant Commander Rodrigo Quintero, commander in charge of the coast Guard Station in Buenaventura.
