This initiative not only promotes tourism, recreation and safe navigability, but in the same way highlights the importance of the river artery, promoting its preservation.
On the waters of the Magdalena River, the Colombian Navy accompanied the Nautical Crossing along the Magdalena River 2025, which took place from November 12 to 17, 2025 and had the participation of 30 boats and approximately 150 people.
The 950-kilometer route, led by the Travesías Colombia Yacht Club, started its route from Puerto Berrio - department of Antioquia, and ended in Cartagena - department of Bolívar, demonstrating a great navigational ability on the part of the participants, while crossing the waters of the most important river in Colombia.
The event was accompanied by the riparian communities and by the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.17, which deployed its logistical and human resources to contribute to the safety of all participants along the route, thus ensuring that this journey is carried out without mishaps.
