Troops of the Navy of Colombia carried out in the neighborhood Alberto Lleras Camargo of the “Locality three” of the port city of Buenaventura, in the department of Valle del Cauca, the rescue of a ships manager, who had been kidnapped last Friday, May 17 by delinquents who demanded 500 million pesos for not attacking on his life.

The 40-year-old man from the department of Antioquia said that he had been kidnapped by eight armed men on a pier in the San Luis neighborhood in the “Locality Five”, in the morning hours. His captors took his credit and debit cards, they stole 30 million pesos, through withdrawals and banking transactions, and later they took the man to the house where he was rescued.

By information from Naval Intelligence, the situation was known and immediately the Naval Force of the Pacific prepared the Unified action Group for Personal Freedom - Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the Navy of Colombia, which identified the captors as members of the organized criminal group "Grupo Local ", who had acted on the instructions of alias "Gordo lindo", ringleader of the criminal structure.

The man was rescued 26 hours after the kidnapping, by the troops of the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the Navy of Colombia and units of the Technical Corps of Investigation -CTI, who arrived at the house, where the individuals had taken the man. The individuals escaped when noticing the presence of the troops, leaving the man alone and tied hands and feet. Troops proceeded to release and transfer the man to the Gaula facilities, where he was handed over to his friends. The case was denounced to the Attorney General of the Nation.
