The Navy of Colombia, through the Fluvial Combat School, moved its instructors to the Dominican Republic, in order to train 26 Navy infantry members of that country in the area of Fluvial Operations.

For four weeks the instructors of the School of Fluvial Combat of Colombia will be sharing their experiences and knowledge in psychological, physical and technical areas, as well as in the tactical use of the armament that forms the defense structure of the fluvial and maritime units.

This training is carried out thanks to international cooperation and the exchange of knowledge in training provided to Central America and the Caribbean by the USCAP program conducted by the United States and Colombia, a program that is responsible for the joint regional security cooperation of the Southern Command of the United States that provides to the partner countries an exchange of experiences to counteract the transnational threats that disturb the stability and security of the region.

These men will have the responsibility to reinforce the fight against drugs and fight the organizations that perpetrate criminal activities and transnational crimes that use Central America as a logistics platform for the shipment of cocaine hydrochloride to North America. In this way we are guaranteeing security and free navigation in the maritime and fluvial spaces of Colombia.
