Units of the Colombian Navy, belonging to the Southern Naval Force, during surveillance, interdiction and river safety operations, find 1,485 kilos of solid precursors and 1,146 gallons of liquid precursors, which would be used for production alkaloids.

Five of the operations were carried out in different places in Putumayo department where the Naval Institution, in conjunction with the National Army, found and destroyed 5 illegal structures of production of alkaloids. The sixth operation was carried out in the sector known as Isla Fantasía, in the rural area of Leticia, in the department of Amazonas, where Units belonging to the Amazonas Coast Guard Command found controlled substances without documentation to support the legality of their transportation; these substances were put into custody of the National Narcotics Council.

With the destruction of these illegal structures and the discovery of precursors for the production of alkaloids, the finances of the illegal organizations that commit crimes in the Colombian Amazonas region are directly hit and the environmental damage that occurs in these places due to arbitrary use of toxic chemicals are stooped.

The elements were put into custody of the authority. During the operations, troops captured the person transporting the material.
