In the course of seven military operations against drug trafficking, conducted with valuable information provided by the Colombian Navy to the authorities of Honduras, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and the United States, the weekend was possible the finding of 5,844 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride in the Central American Caribbean.

In the first operation, soldiers of the Honduran Naval Force, guided by Colombian naval information, reached the Barra de Río Miel sector, in the Colón region, where they found a hideout with 76 black sacks, which stored 1,675 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.

The second finding, in the same way in Honduras, occurred when authorities in that country intercepted a CESSNA-type aircraft and a rudimentary-type ship, nine nautical miles south of Brus Laguna, in the Department of Gracias a Dios, where 12 sacks containing 272 kilograms of illicit substance were found by troops.

In addition, U.S. Coast Guard units intercepted a low-profile boat or semi-submarine carrying 2,501 kilograms of narcotics. It is presumed that the boat would have left the department of La Guajira and was destined for Central America.

Three other results are given in the waters of the Dominican Republic, where Navy military, and the National Directorate of Drug Control in that country, intercepted three boats Go Fast, one transporting 315 kilograms of narcotic drugs, and the other two had modified structures where 320 and 115 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride were found, respectively.

The last event took place in the same way thanks to information of Colombian navy and the timely reaction of the Costa Rican authorities, who detect a suspicious boat sailing in waters near the Tortuguero National Park, in the District of Colorado, Limon. The boat that, noticing the work of the military, ended up on the coast, was carrying 646 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.

With these meetings, thanks to coordinated work among countries in the region, it was possible to prevent more than 198 million dollars from entering the financial structures of drug trafficking organizations.
