Troops of the National Army, in coordination with the police, the Attorney General's office and in response to the early warning 016 of 2018, fought with members of the residual organized armed group, Gao-R, structure 36, and managed to capture two individuals. In this operation, alias El Negro was seriously injured, and, although he was taken to a medical center by the combat nurses of the institution, he died. Alias “El Negro” was in charge of coordinating criminal alliances with the Organized Crime Group Los Pachelly, to carry out extortions and murders and control drug trafficking in the municipalities Yarumal, San Andres De Cuerquia and the Toledo Valley.
This individual had escaped a military facility in June this year, and was wanted by authorities for crimes such as aggravated conspiracy to commit crimes and prisoners escape. He had participated in the murder of our soldier Angel Regino Hernández, in this region of the department.
