The execution of this mission is directly damaging the finances of this Organized Armed Group and is thwarting the criminal expansion activities in the department.
Troops of the National Army, with the objective of continuing to harm the different logistic and criminal networks of the Organized Armed Groups, GAO, which commit crimes in Valle del Cauca, achieve a decisive result in favor of the security of the region.
Three individuals accused of being members of the GAO Clan del Golfo, in a rural area of the municipality of Versalles, north of the department, were killed during military operations.
They are alias Mexicano, ringleader of the group; alias Morocho and alias Zarco, who apparently were in this region of the country conducting criminal expansion plans ordered by alias Otoniel, in order to strengthen their criminal operation and position themselves illegally in Valle del Cauca.
In the same way, thanks to the pressure exerted by the troops, it was possible to capture one of the members of this gang; rifles, pistols, a fragmentation grenade, magazines, ammunition of different calibres, military accessories, communication equipment and cash were in the same way found; these elements were put into custody of the authorities.
