After an intense pursuit, one individual was arrested and a vehicle with long-range and short-range weapons was immobilized.
Thanks to the information provided by the civic participation network and the rapid reaction of the troops of the National Army, in coordination with the National Police, it was possible in the midst of an intense pursuit to arrest in flagrante delicto an individual while traveling in a private van-type vehicle, with Venezuelan plates, through the municipality known as la Pava, in the municipality of Saravena, Arauca. In the vehicle were in the same way three other individuals, who fled quickly when they noticed the work of the military units.
During the inspection of the vehicle, a powerful long-and short-range armament was found - a colt 5.56 mm rifle, two rifle magazines, four 9 mm caliber pistols, six pistol magazines and three IM 26 fragmentation grenades- armament that would be used to carry out criminal operations in Arauca.
The arrested man and the weapons in the vehicle are already into custody of the authorities.
In the second operation, by means of a judicial order to search a building in the neighborhood of Veinte de Julio,an urban area of the municipality of Arauquita, Arauca, troops of the National Army, in an inter-institutional manner with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office, find an illegal hideout with war material and military accessories that belonged to the residual organized armed group (GAO-r) E-10 Mart铆n Villa, of the Farc dissidents.
A 5.56 mm M-15 rifle, a pistol, magazines, abundant ammunition, cell phones, military accessories, computers and a motorcycle were found by troops and put into custody of the authorities.
In the third operation carried out in the municipality of N谩poles, municipality of Tame, Arauca, thanks to the urgent call of the people and with intelligence work, the security operation was activated and the controlled destruction of two ramps-type launching pads and a 40-kilo gas cylinder that were linked with 40 meters of cable was carried out. In the same, in the town of Villa Maga, a rural area of the municipality of Saravena, the military units found an improvised explosive device that would be activated against people and troops passing through the sector, which would result in serious damages in a 30 meters range.
The explosive devices were destroyed in controlled conditions by our EXDE Explosives and Demolitions technicians of the National Army. It should be noted that such terrorist operations violate human rights and violate international humanitarian law.
So far this year, the National Army has arrested 8 alleged criminals, including alias Mica Tropo, accused of being the main ringleader of the ELN's urban terrorist network, 3 Farc dissidents and 4 common criminality individuals.
On the other hand, 4 people who claimed to be members of the residual Structure Ten of an organized armed group have voluntarily surrendered to justice.
