La Guajira. 600 gallons of gasoline that were distributed illegally in different sectors of the department of La Guajira were found in a coordinated operation conducted by the Colombian Air Force and the Tax and Customs Police of Maicao, after finding several collection centers in the sector of Cortica, a municipality where the fuel was stored and marketed.
This result was possible thanks to intelligence work and image analysis, with aerial platforms of the Air Combat Command No. 3. It was possible to determine these sources of hydrocarbon traffic, contributing to the fight against the phenomenon of contraband, which is currently the source of finances for the criminal structures that commit crimes in this border area.
The Colombian Air Force will continue to use its capabilities, working jointly and in coordination to combat any illicit activity that disturbs the economy and peace of Colombians.
