During the last few days, the Military Gaula carried out various operations against kidnapping and extortion in which they weaken criminal structures and put in prison the financial ringleaders of the Organized Armed Groups.
Troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Cundinamarca and Elite 2 in joint and interagency work with CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office arrested six members of organized common crime at the service of a drug trafficking group called Delta.
According to intelligence work it was determined that it is a group which brings from the department of Cauca amounts of drug to Cundinamarca, through the microtrafficking, to be sold in different neighborhoods of Bogota to the sellers of drugs, who were subsequently extorted by the group as a pressing method of payment.
Those arrested were required by the Colombian justice system for the crimes of association to commit crimes for extortive purposes, trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics, manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possessing firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition, and selective homicides.
Another blow to the criminal structures was one carried out by the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Bajo Cauca in coordination with CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) in which they arrested alias El Visco chief of finance of the GAO Clan del Golfo, in charge of directing the collection of money from extortions in the municipality of Nech铆 and carrying out selective assassinations in the department.
On the other hand, the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Norte de Santander group, in coordination with SIJ脥N of the National Police, managed to arrest four individuals who committed extortion in the municipalities of Chicat谩 and Silos. Among their criminal activities, they distributed pamphlets alluding to the Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Substructure 45. At the time of the arrest, a 9 mm caliber pistol, a 38 mm revolver, 35 9mm cartridges, an ammunition box with 35 9mm cartridges and four cell phones were found.
In the same way, the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Casanare, in coordination with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office 5, arrested in flagrante delicto in the municipality of Paz de Ariporo, two members of substructure 28 of the GAO-r, at the time they were extorting and intimidating the farmers, rice merchants and ranchers of the village Monta帽as del Totumo.
