The illegal laboratory was found in the vicinity of the village of El Placer, in the Tambo region - Nariño.
It is estimated that the construction would have a capacity to produce more than 1,000 kilograms of the narcotic per month.
In a coordinated effort to counter transnational crime, soldiers of the Combat Engineer Battalion No. 23, unit a of the Twenty-Third Brigade of Colombian National Army, in coordination with the National Police, the finding and destruction of a cocaine hydrochloride production laboratory, was possible.
Thanks to the work carried out by military and police intelligence, the illegal structure was found in the vicinity of the village of El Placer, of El Tambo - Nariño, where approximately 300 kg of cocaine hydrochloride, 5,000 gallons of liquid supplies, 600 kilograms of solid supplies and other elements used for drug production were found by troops, which were destroyed in controlled conditions complying with all security protocols.
It is estimated that the laboratory would have the capacity to produce more than 1,000 kilograms of the hallucinogen per month, with its destruction the finances of the organized armed groups that commit crimes in the sector are hit by more than 1,200 million pesos.
