Through this result, the entry of more than 1,597,665 million dollars into the residual structure was prevented, resources with which they finance terrorist operations against the inhabitants and the Military Forces in the southwest of the country.
Within the framework of the Joint Strategic Campaign Plan Ayacucho Plus, and as part of the joint operation in the Escudo del Norte, (Northern Shield) operation against illicit activities, troops of the Ground Operations Battalion No. 13 of the Twenty-Ninth Brigade, in coordination with the National Police, reported an important result.
The operation took place in the Lomitas Abajo village, municipality of Santander de Quilichao, in the department of Cauca, where, thanks to intelligence work and information from the civic participation network, a van in which two men were traveling was intercepted. When the vehicle was searched, multiple packages containing 1200 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride were found by troops.
Those arrested were put into custody of the judicial authorities for the crimes of trafficking, manufacture or aggravated transportation of narcotics and bribery.
The material found and the vehicle used for the transport were taken under strict security measures for the corresponding procedures.
This result directly hits the financial capacity of the Pablo Guerrero column of the residual organized armed group, GAO-r, Jaime Martínez Structure, which sustains its criminal operations through drug trafficking and seeks to expand its illicit activities in the southwest of the country. The monetary impact of the finding is estimated at more than 6450 million pesos, significantly weakening its logistics and sources of financing.
