In operation against illegal mining, the finances of the GAO “Clan del Golfo” in Bajo Cauca are damaged

In a joint and coordinated operation conducted by the National Army, the Colombian Air Force and the National Police, it was possible to, once again, hit the financial structure of the Organized Armed Group (GAO), “Clan del Golfo”.

 

According to the analysis of images emitted by Air Combat command No.5 it was possible to identify the areas hit by this illegal practice, in the municipality of Puerto Antioquia and the village El Jardín in the municipalities of Tarazá and Cáceres, respectively. The result is the finding of two backhoes and the destruction of nine engines of water extraction, this material was put into custody of the Police of the same municipalities.

 

In this way another blow to the substructure 'Virgilio Peralta Arenas' 'Caparrapos', which commits crimes in this area of ​​the country and have negatively impacted the environment.

 

The Colombian Air Force will continue to participate in this type of missions against illegal mining, along with the other Military Forces and National Police, with the objective of favoring the protection of the Nation's natural resources.
