Operation “Jaque” is exhibited at the Spy Museum, in Washington

The exhibition in the same way has an interactive component on the museum's website and will be open until December this year.

Operation Jaque was one of the boldest and most effective operations in the history of intelligence, thanks to a strategy completely planned and executed by the National Army that involved code-breaking, covert identities and the successful rescue of 15 hostages held by the extinct FARC guerrillas, without firing a single shot.

That is why the Spy Museum has just inaugurated an exhibition about Operation Jaque, the exhibition includes photographs, maps and some notebooks used by the Military Forces where they wrote down the codes and messages that were sent to the FARC to deceive them. In turn, some of the recorded audios of the conversations between the guerrillas and soldiers of the National Army will be on display.

Thanks to the Colombian Embassy in Washington, it was possible to organize the staging, which is the result of a series of events organized to commemorate the 200 years of bilateral relations by the U.S. and Colombia.

The exhibition in the same way has an interactive component on the museum's website and will be open until December this year.
