The fight against residual Organized Armed Groups (GAO-r) continues persistently in the southwest of the country by the Colombian Air Force through joint and coordinated work carried out with the National Army and the National Police in the village of La Isla, municipality of Tumaco, Nariño.

On this time, due to the ground work carried out by troops of the National Army and the support of the Colombian Air Force through its aircraft, it was possible to find a hideout with abundant war material consisting of rifles, a mortar tube, hand grenades, magazines, ammunition and linked cartridges, which would belong to the GAO-R Bloque Occidental Alfonso Cano.

In the same way, garments for the exclusive use of the Military Forces, multi-purpose vests, 5 backpacks and 5 assault bags were found by troops. Besides, a capture was made.

All these elements, and the person captured, were put into custody of the authorities for the respective judicial process.

The Colombian Air Force ratifies the commitment to ensure the protection of civilians, in fulfillment of its constitutional mission, exercising sovereignty and guaranteeing constitutional order with all its air resources, throughout the national territory.
