Patients of the "Operation Smile" program arrived in Bogotá by Air Force aircraft

Pacientes del programa “Operación sonrisa” llegaron a Bogotá en aeronave de la Fuerza Aérea

The Colombian Aerospace Force, through the Military Transport Air Command- CATAM sent a C-295 aircraft to carry out the transfer from Puerto Inírida- Guainía to the capital city of the country, of 8 minors and their parents who will benefit of the Operation Smile program.

The Organization Operation Smile focuses its efforts to transform the lives of people, especially children from vulnerable villages, with the condition of cleft lip and palate, susceptible to correction through reconstructive plastic surgery and multidisciplinary treatment.

This air transport was carried out in support of the Government of Guainía as part of the alliances that the Colombian Aerospace Force is consolidating, in search of improving the conditions of the most vulnerable villages in the country, obeying its institutional policies of social responsibility.

This is how, in a joint work conducted by the Guainía Government, Fundación Operación Sonrisa and the Colombian Aerospace Force, these minors will begin surgical procedures, which seeks to improve their quality of life.
