Pedestrian bridge transported by the Air Force will connect the inhabitants of San Pedro, Antioquia with development

2 years ago the inhabitants of the municipality of Nariño woke up with bad news; an avalanche took out several houses, a school and a bridge. Today, a dream came true, after so many attempts and improvised constructions of the pedestrian bridge to cross the San Pedro River, as fallen from heaven, the material for its construction was brought by the Colombian Air force.

In a joint effort, the Colombian Air Force managed to transport in a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter, 11.3 tons of external cargo with structural material for the construction of the bridge, which will benefit more than 400 people from four hamlets, who daily expose their lives to contact with the urban area of this municipality in the subregion of the East of Antioquia.

This special mission was carried out in coordination with the Administrative Department of The Disaster Prevention, Care and recovery system, DAPARD in Spanish, of the governorate of Antioquia, troops of the Fourth Brigade of the National Army, UNDP Colombia and Puentes de la Esperanza.

The Colombian Air Force will continue to participate in such missions, which to date have benefited more than 3,900 families in six departments of the country, serving with all its assets to transport hope to the most remote regions of the country.
