This is the Strategic Plan for the Transformation of the Army of the Future, PETEF, which is a tool for decision-making in the short, medium and long term.
To the National Army, service to civilians is a priority based on its mission; for this reason, for the past 11 years a great effort has been made in the process of internal transformation, which has required diagnosis and analysis, the definition of problems that should be solved in the future, the identification of Resources required, the review of modernization needs and the formulation of strategies and policies.
Within this branch, transformation has been understood as a necessity in the face of the spirit of service of the Colombian soldier, because the challenges of tomorrow require innovative strategies and solutions for the effective fulfillment of the mission.
This is how the PETEF leads the institution to evolve harmoniously, coordinating the operations evolution and the generation of perspectives for this branch of the military forces, guiding the planning and decision-making process.
Priorities in the operational environment, such as the protection of natural resources, the neutralization of illegal paths, the strengthening of security and border control and the defense of fundamental rights are analyzed to establish the concepts, Resources and army structure required to maintain the strength of operations in the future.
With the implementation of the PETEF, the institution focuses its efforts on future challenges, managing to strengthen institutional and security work activities that are directed towards the well-being of the Colombian people.
The National Army works on resource-based planning to coordinate the branch's participation in designing the Army of the future.
