PRESS RELEASE

The Energy Operational Command No.1, a military unit of the Second Division, informs:

 

 

 

 

 

1. According to preliminary information, in military operations for the security and defense of the inhabitants of the municipality of Guamalito, rural area of the municipality of El Carmen, Norte de Santander, our soldiers Jesús Alberto Muñoz Segovia and Yonny Andrés Castillo Ospino, of the Batallón Energético Vial No.10, were kidnapped by members of the residual organized armed group that commits crimes the region.

 

 

 

 

 

2. Immediately the authorities were informed and a full operation was launched, in order to find the military.

 

 

 

 

 

3. When the facts were known, communication has been provided as well as permanent accompaniment to the family of the soldiers.

 

 

 

 

 

4. This command makes this structure responsible for the good health conditions of these young people who serve their compulsory military service. In the same way denunciations have been posed with the relevant authorities, and we emphatically reject this type of conduct that violates human rights.
