PRESS RELEASE

The Joint Task Force for Stabilization and Consolidation Hercules, informs:

 

1.Regarding the enforced disappearance of three men from Tumaco in the municipality of Mosquera, units of the Navy Infantry Brigade No.4, in coordination with local authorities, were deployed in order to find these people.

 

2.As a result of the four days of continuous search efforts, an area of 344 kilometers of rivers has been covered, but no positive results to determine the whereabouts of the individuals have been reached.

 

3.On Saturday, January 16, in development of these tasks, units of the Navy Infantry Battalion No.15 found the lifeless body of a man in the sector known as Playa Boquerón, in the municipality of El Charco, Nariño. The authorities are carrying out the process to determine his identity and the causes of his death.

 

4. In the same way, with respect to the information that it is circulating in digital media and social networks about the alleged disappearance and murder of 11 people from different parts of the Pacific, it is important to clarify that no formal denunciations have been received about this fact.

 

5. The Joint Task Force for Stabilization and Consolidation Hercules has intensified search, control and surveillance operations in the municipalities of Mosquera, El Charco and Olaya Herrera, to clarify the facts and to find the missing ones.
