The Command of the Fifteenth Brigade of Colombian National Army informs : On Friday, December 20, in the village of El Tapón, municipality of Tadó, department of Chocó, two specialist soldiers were seriously hit by an anti-personnel mine planted by the ELN organized armed group, Western War Front Omar Gómez.
The wounded soldiers received immediate assistance from the military nurse, who managed to stabilize them for their subsequent transfer to the San Francisco de Quibdó Hospital. Unfortunately Soldier José Fernando Bueno Bueno passed away, due to the severity of his injuries.
Faced with the situation, the Soldier's relatives have been informed of what happened and receive constant accompaniment from military personnel, including psychological support and spiritual guidance.
We reject and denounce to the authorities these acts that violate human rights and violate international humanitarian law, attacking the life, physical condition and well-being of the inhabitants and the soldiers.
We express our deepest condolences to the family and partners of Soldier José Fernando Bueno Bueno. We send our prayers to the King of Armies, that he may have him in his holy glory.
