The Ministry of National Defense reports:
Major General Mario Augusto Valencia Valencia, Chief of Joint Operations, is the new second commander of the National Army to replace Major General Adelmo Fajardo Hernández.
Major General Jaime Agustín Carvajal Villamizar, Director of the Superior War College, will be the new commander of the National Army Air Assault Aviation Division to replace Major General Juan Vicente Trujillo Muñoz.
The current Inspector General of the Army, Major General Jorge Arturo Salgado Restrepo, is appointed as military attaché in Chile. His position will be assumed by Major General Óscar Alberto Quintero González, current Head of Communications and Information Technologies of the General Command of the Military Forces.
On the other hand, the National Government, in use of its discretion, has decided to decommission the following officers:
Major General Adelmo Fajardo Hernández, second commander of the National Army.
Major General Juan Vicente Trujillo Muñoz, commander of the National Army Air Assault Aviation Division.
Brigadier General César Augusto Parra León, head of the Joint Planning and Transformation Department.
For his part, Major General Francisco Javier Cruz Ricci, head of the Implementation and Stabilization Department, presented his retirement of the National Army.
