After intense search and rescue efforts, units of the Colombian Navy found Mr. Juan De la Cruz Sousa, a 78-year-old adult who had been reported missing by his relatives. The rescue was carried out in the sector Ca帽o Chaquita of the Atabapo River, in the department of Guain铆a.
To find the elderly, the search and rescue operations were conducted for nine days by the Navy Infantry Battalion No.50, in coordination with the Disaster Risk Management Unit of In铆rida, the Civil Defense and the firemen.
Once the older adult was found, he was given first aid and then transported in coordination with his family to the Municipal Hospital Manuel Elkin Patarroyo in In铆rida where he was received by doctors, staying under hospital care, accompanied by his family, he had symptoms of dehydration.
