The operations of the Military Forces led to the intervention of 23 illegal mines in a rural area of the municipality of Santander de Quilichao, Cauca, allegedly supervised by the Residual Organized Armed Group, Jaime Martinez Structure.

Through a joint work conducted by the Colombian Air Force, the National Army, coordinated with the National Police and inter-institutional with the Attorney General's Office, this intervention took place and there it was possible to arrest 13 people, disable a dredger and 16 engines, with which forests were being destroyed and water tributaries were polluted.

With this result, the negative impacts caused to the environment are reduced, as well as the sources of financing of this outlaw group that commits crimes in this sector of the country.

In the southwest of the country, the Colombian Air Force continues to participate in these operations that aim to recover the country's natural areas that have been hit by illegal mining.
