Satellite operations to counter drug trafficking and illegal mining in Colombia

Operaciones satelitales para contrarrestar el narcotráfico y la minería ilegal en Colombia

The Resolute Sentinel 2024 Exercise space cell participates in this deployment of the military operation of the SpOC, for its acronym in English, Space Operation Center of the Colombian Aerospace Force, in Cali, Colombia.

At the same time, at the Space Operations Centers in Brasilia (Brazil) and Lima (Peru), cooperation ties between sister nations are in the same way being strengthened, exchanging knowledge and interacting within the framework of space surveillance missions from the Earth's orbits.

Thus, interoperability is ratified under the term partner nations, partners or allied nations, to unify terms in combined operations, using the concept of space defense, for the development and control of missions against illegal mining, illegal fishing, deforestation, water levels, illicit plantations, illegal runways and maritime drug trafficking routes.

In simulated operations, countries such as Colombia, the United States, Peru and Brazil work with the aim of increasing awareness on the space domain, identifying the type of threats to the region, in the same way reviewing on-orbit activities, parameters and tools for the security and protection of space resources.

The air operations are in the same way constant in different places of Peru, as the host country of this multinational training that began on May 27 and runs until June 14 of this year.
