The Colombian Navy's operation in the Colombian Pacific to carry out maritime control and deny drug trafficking organizations the illegal use of the sea, led to the interception of an illegal semi-submarine type device when it was sailing transporting 985 packages with drugs, apparently to Central America.

The 15-meter-long semi-submarine, crewed by three men, was detected by Colombian Navy units in the Pacific Ocean, with the support of international cooperation and the Colombian Air Force. During the review of the illegal device, military personnel found 42 sacks, food, navigation and communications equipment.

The material found and the three people were taken to the port of Tumaco where, with the inter-institutional support of the Technical Investigation Staff of the Attorney General's Office, the entire prosecution process was carried out, as well as the respective tests to the packages that left positive result for cocaine hydrochloride and subsequently, they were put into custody of the authorities.

With this finding, the entry of more than 33 million dollars to drug trafficking organizations was prevented, the product of their sale on the international illegal market as well as the distribution of 2.5 million doses on the streets of Central American countries.
