Continuing with the operation against the structures at the service of drug trafficking, in the southwest of the country, the Colombian Aerospace Force, Colombian National Army, the Colombian Navy and the National Police carried out an operation where it was possible to find and intervene seven mining production units in the area of L贸pez de Micay, Cauca.

When inspecting the place, 04 excavators and 03 industrial engines were found by troops, which were used for this illegal activity, allegedly attributed to the Carlos Pati帽o Structure of the Residual Organized Armed Group that commits crimes in this sector.

As a result of the disablement of this machinery valued at about 2 billion pesos, the illegal activities of this group outlaw are directly hit, this illegal unit generated an estimated production of 16,500 grams of gold per month, for a cost of 4 billion pesos in trade.

On the other hand, in the framework of the protection and defense of the environment with this result it was possible to intervene an approximate area of 10 hectares and stop the deforestation of 6 thousand trees, a loss which has a recovery expected time of 20 to 30 years.

With this type of operations, the Colombian Aerospace Force ratifies its commitment to coordinated work with the other Military Forces, the National Police and other institutions, which face the criminal activities generated by the exploitation of mining deposits that hit the environment in this area of the national territory.
