Chocó. In a joint operation of the Navy of Colombia with the National Army and coordinated with the National Police, contributing to the Unified actions of the State, it was possible to capture six members of the Organized Armed Group Eln, in the department of Chocó.
The operation was carried out in the municipality of El Carmen del Darién, where troops of the Marine Infantry Battalion No.16, of the Colombian Navy, the Army and the Police, captured six people of the ELN, who perpetrated the illegal exploitation of mining deposits.
In the place, where 80 million pesos in gold were produced every week, it was possible to destroy a backhoe, two dragons, seven mining camps with capacity for 28 people and 280 gallons of liquid precursors.
Those captured were put into custody of the No.1 Specialized Prosecutor's Office for their respective prosecution. With this result, this Organized Armed Group and its finances can be significantly impacted.
