In the Operation 'America', troops of the Engineers Battalion No.5 'Coronel Francisco José de Caldas' of the Fifth Brigade, of the Second Division, find and destroy explosive material, which was intended to be used for the illegal exploitation of mining deposits, in the village Los Volcanes, of the municipality of Vetas, in the department of Santander.
The information provided by the civic participation network, led to the discovery of three meters of detonating cord and eight electric detonators, which were left in the place when noticing the presence of the soldiers. The material was intended to be used to hit this water source, which provides the municipality of Vetas.
