Soldiers of the Special Forces of the Sixth Division reinforce security for COP16

Soldados de las Fuerzas Especiales de la Sexta Divisi贸n refuerzan la seguridad en la COP16

An elite unit of soldiers highly trained in special operations and complex tasks, specialized in the protection of high dignitaries, has arrived in the city of Cali to reinforce security during COP16.

More than 30 soldiers of the Special Forces Battalion No. 6, experts in highly complex military operations and trained in several languages, such as Portuguese and French, were sent by the Command of the Sixth Division to support the protection of the leaders who will attend the COP16, scheduled for next October 21 in the city of Santiago de Cali.

The contingent of soldiers arrived in the capital city of Valle del Cauca, with the support of the Air Assault Division, which facilitated their transfer from Florencia, Caquet谩, by means of a military aircraft. Its main mission is to work to increase the security of the high dignitaries who will participate in this important international conference, which will receive representatives from all over the world. Colombian National Army has made use of this highly qualified team, with linguistic resources in French and Portuguese, to ensure the success of the operation.

The soldiers will remain in Cali until the conclusion of the event, later they will return to the south of the country to continue strengthening security in that region, especially on the eve of the December celebrations, which will be enjoyed by Colombians in the Amazonas region.

The commitment of the men and women of the Sixth Division of Colombian National Army to the security of the country is unwavering. That is why we are at one of the most important global events, the COP16, which attracts the assistance of the world to this outstanding capital of Valle del Cauca.
