Successfully completion of the Ninth “Voyage Sailing to the Heart of the Magdalena”

Con éxito culmina Novena Versión de la Travesía ‘Navegando al Corazón del Magdalena’

Eight villages were visited, with the support of 200 volunteers, the leadership of the Colombian Navy and the Bolivar Governorate as a strategic ally.

Sailing to the Heart of the Magdalena: I fall in love with Bolívar toured the department from north to south, benefiting more than 20 thousand people.

After sailing for 21 days and traveling 647 nautical miles along the Magdalena River, the crossing Sailing to the Heart of the Magdalena: I Fall in Love with Bolivar reached eight villages from the north to the south of the department. The last stop was in the village of Coyongal, Magangué, where they received with honors the volunteers, officials, Sailors and navy infantry who brought wellbeing to the most remote places in this region.

On board the ARC Golfo de Morrosquillo embarked the Third Non-Commissioned Officer Luis Guerrero, of the Department of Comprehensive operation of the Caribbean Naval Force, a native to the village of Coyongal, who after 14 years of service in the Colombian Navy was able to arrive with the Unified operation of the State to the place where he was born.

“This is an activity that I often do all over Colombia and today I have the opportunity to reach my home municipality, it is a great satisfaction to be able to help those who supported me,” Guerrero said, with tears in his eyes.

This year, with the voyage Sailing to the Heart of the Magdalena, the legal services of the Justo Bolívar program were in the same way provided in the villages of Calamar, Coyongal, El Peñón, La Peña, Regidor, San Martín de Loba and Soplaviento.

"Fulfilling the purpose of Governor Yamil Arana to unite the north with the south of the department and to be more in the territory than at the desk, more than 200 volunteers participated carrying the services of the Government of Bolivar and the National Navy,” said the Secretary of the Interior of Bolivar, Javier Doria, who accompanied the crossing and shared unforgettable experiences with the Sailors and navy infantry embarked in this edition.

Identification, legal consulting, gynecology, migration, dentistry, pediatrics, recreation, civil search, health and the services of the Justo Bolívar program, among other services, were provided during this journey that reached the heart of the inhabitants of Bolívar, benefiting more than 20 thousand people.
