Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plan, the military units have neutralized the threat of the indiscriminate use of explosive devices planted by the organized armed group GAO ELN in the Orinoquia region.
National Army troops, in territorial control operations, report the neutralization of a terrorist operation through the finding and destruction of 13 anti-personnel mines and 19 rudimentary-made electric detonators, which were ready to be triggered against the Military Forces and would belong to the organized armed group GAO ELN.
These high-powered devices, were in the rural area of the municipality of Fortul, Arauca, thanks to the civic participation support network, who warn of these death traps in that sector.
It should be noted that our specialists of the EXDE explosives and demolition group reported the controlled destruction of this important war material, which would be used by members of the GAO ELN criminal organization to indiscriminately hit our men and civilians.
In the same way, it is important to mention that so far this year 197 explosive devices have been found and destroyed by the National Army in the department of Arauca, safeguarding the good physical condition of the different productive groups, peasants, social and communal sectors, among others, who carry out agricultural work in the rural areas of the municipality of Fortul.
