These terrorists were threatening civilians in the municipalities of Anorí and Campamento, in the department of Antioquia.
The National Army, in military operations, within the framework of the Aquiles military and police campaign, in coordination with the Colombian Air Force, with the support of the National Police, the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation and in response to early warnings No. 026 of the year 2018, achieved the neutralization of three members of the Anorí Company, of the Organized Armed Group, GAO - ELN.
The military operation was carried out in Los Trozos, in a rural area of the municipality of Anorí, thanks to the information provided by the Civic Participation Network, which led the troops to arrive at the site and detect the presence of the individuals, who upon seeing the presence of the soldiers engaged combat. As a result of these combats, three members of the GAO ELN fall and a voluntary surrender of one of them took place. He will receive the benefits of the Humanitarian Assistance Group for the Demobilized, which is a program of the Ministry of National Defense.
Among these individuals would be alias Julio, who would be the second in command of the Anorí Company, with four years within the armed organization. This criminal would have participated in several terrorist operations against the energy infrastructure, which is a strategic asset of the country. He would in the same way be in charge of the illicit income and the illegal finances of this substructure.
During the operation, 3 rifles, 4 pistols, 3 hand grenades, 16 magazines, 518 cartridges of different caliber and communications equipment were found. The bodies were handed over to the authorities for their full identification, once the urgent acts were carried out.
With this result, the GAO - ELN is significantly harmed and loses capacity in planning terrorist operations and illegal activities.
