These captures, made in Norte de Santander and the South of Cesar, damage the monetary resources of this illegal armed group.
In the framework of the execution of the Plan Diamante II, soldiers of the Ricaurte Battalion of the Fifth Brigade of the Second Division, in coordination with the National Police, captured three individuals belonging to the group of specific crimes of the Organized Armed Group - GAO Clan del Golfo.
The captures were made in the municipality of San Martín, south of the department of Cesar and La Esperanza, in the department of Norte de Santander, where the soldiers found alias 'El Loco', alias 'El Paisa' and another individual, 34, accused of carrying out criminal intelligence to the troops, extort the civilian population and commit selective homicides, causing fear to the community through theese illicit activities.
The area of activities of these individuals was the hamlet Quebradas and the hamlet Berlín, of the municipality La Esperanza, in the department of Norte de Santander, where they were put into custody of the Attorney General of the Nation and according to current arrest warrants, they must face charges for the crimes of conspiracy to commit a crime, manufacture, trafficking, carrying or possession of a firearm, accessories, parts or ammunition, manufacture, trafficking and bearing of weapons, ammunition of restricted use of the Military Forces and forced displacement.
