A new blow was dealt by the Colombian Navy Units in the Colombian Pacific to the drug trafficking organizations, which intended to transport 1,663 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride to Central America from the mouth of the Yurumangu铆 River, in the department of Valle del Cauca.
Surface Units of the Pacific Naval Force during maritime control operations, guided by naval intelligence, detected the suspicious ship that sailed at high speed. After a maritime chase by Coastguard Units, the boat manned by three Colombian individuals, was intercepted.
During the boat inspection procedure, the Coast Guard staff found 84 bags of different sizes, which apparently contained alkaloids.
The sacks, the individuals and the boat were transported to the port of Buenaventura, in Valle del Cauca, where the judicial authorities determined that the sacks contained 1,663 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride. The drug and the individuals were put into custody of the authorities.
With this operation, the Pacific Naval Force prevented the drug trafficking organizations from receiving about 55 million dollars of the sale of the drug in the international illegal market.
This year, the Pacific Naval Force has found about 55 tons of cocaine hydrochloride, preventing nearly two billion dollars from entering the drug trafficking organizations in this region of the country.
