During the Ayacucho Plus Joint Strategic Campaign Plan and giving continuity to the military operations against the FARC dissidents in the department of Guaviare, the Colombian Aerospace Force through the Military Transport Air Command, CATAM, sent C-130 Hercules and C-295 aircraft to transport National Army troops and members of the National Police Military Forces to San José del Guaviare.
The aircraft went from CATAM to the Military Fort of Tolemaida, the Air Combat Command No. 2 in Apiay and the Casanare Air Group in Yopal, where the fully equipped military and police officers boarded, to be transported to the capital city of this Department in the southeast of the country, with the aim of increasing the number of units in the region.
The air transport of the members of the Military Forces with differential resources, responds to the mission of protecting the inhabitants, strengthening security and boosting territorial control in the area. Similarly, flights are carried out day and night using night vision goggles and flares.
