Two minors recruited by FARC residual groups in the department of Cauca in the Pacific Ocean region were recovered by Colombian National Army

Dos menores de edad, reclutados por las Farc en el Pacífico caucano fueron recuperados por el Ejército Nacional

During a military operation in the rural area of the municipality of Guapi, Cauca, it was possible to recover two minors who had been forcibly recruited by the Residual Organized Armed Group Rafael Aguilera structure.

The children aged 16 and 14, respectively, had been in this structure for more than a year and were being utilized and indoctrinated.

The minors were taken by the Colombian Family Wellbeing Institute and the authorities for the restoration of their rights.

This successful humanitarian operation for the recovery of these two minors underlines the determination of Colombian National Army in the protection of children and in the fight against illegal practices, such as forced recruitment.

Continuous collaboration with civil authorities, human rights organizations and society in general are essential to prevent and address such situations.
