Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, the Omega Task Force of Colombian National Army, in a joint and coordinated operation with the National Navy, the Colombian Aerospace Force and the Anti-Narcotics Directorate of the National Police, conducted the dismantling of two illegal laboratories in the Morichera village, municipality of El Retorno, department of Guaviare. These constructions belonged to the residual organized armed group Structura Primera Armando R铆os, of the Manuel Marulanda V茅lez Amazonas Bloc. More than 18,000 kilograms of potassium permanganate, a substance used to purify coca base paste through oxidation processes, were produced there every month.
With the amount of this chemical precursor found, approximately 40,000 kilograms of coca base paste could have been processed, which represents an estimated loss of 1,600 million pesos to the illicit activities of this criminal structure.
A team specialized in detection and neutralization of explosive devices of the 11th Direct operation and Reconnaissance Battalion, belonging to the 11th Rapid Deployment Force, carried out the controlled destruction of the facilities, leaving them completely disabled.
The Omega Task Force reaffirms its commitment in the fight against drug trafficking and organized armed groups, and continues to carry out operations to dismantle their criminal networks, protecting the life and tranquility of the inhabitants in the departments of Meta, Caquet谩 and Guaviare.
