Thanks to the pressure of the troops of the National Army a citizen kidnapped by the GAO Clan del Golfo, in Lloró, in the department of Chocó, was released.
In military operations conducted by the National Army jointly and coordinately with the Navy and the Police, it was possible to achieve two important results in favor of the security, the personal freedom and against the illicit income of the organized armed groups in the department of Chocó.
The first event was reported in the municipality of Boraudo, rural area of Lloró, west of the upper Atrato River. There, troops of the Military Campaign and Police Titan received the denunciation on the kidnapping of a citizen by criminals of the ' Clan del Golfo’'. Immediately the military was deployed on this population with the aim of beginning the search for both the victim and his victimizers. It could be established that the illegal retention took place to press the payment of extortions.
Thanks to information of the Civic Participation Network, the place where the individuals had the kidnapped was established and troops immediately reach the sector, where the criminals flee to an unknown destination. That's when the Army finds the victim and achieves his rescue. He is immediately taken to a health care center where, after the first medical check-ups, he was found to be in good health. Later he reunited with his family.
In another action, and in response to the recommendations made in the Early Alerts 019 and 068 of 2018 issued by the Ombudsman's Office, in the municipality of Riosucio, north of the department of Chocó, in the Puente América sector, on the Atrato River, in a fluvial control checkpoint, and alerted by the Civic Participation Network, a boat in which two individuals were mobilizing cocaine hydrochloride, was stopped. The cache that weighed 173 kilos, belonged to the GAO, Organized armed Group, Clan del Golfo. Destination is under investigation.
