The minor had medical records of epilepsy and had stopped receiving medical treatment for three days.
In a rapid and effective humanitarian assistance operation, the Colombian Navy, through the Pacific Naval Air Group, deployed one of its air units to evacuate a minor who was having seizures in the village of La Plata, within the Uramba National Natural Park, in the Colombian Pacific.
The assistance of the minor began when her parents traveled by boat from the village of La Plata to the facilities of the Naval Base ARC Málaga, where she was immediately assisted by personnel of the Naval Health Establishment, who conducted an initial assessment and stabilization, without evidence of improvement in her health condition, so they proceeded to manage her transfer to a more complex medical center.
Faced with the emergency, the Colombian Navy immediately sent an aircraft of the Pacific Naval Air Group, to transport the patient along with her parents to the Special District of Buenaventura. Upon arrival, an ambulance was waiting for them to be transferred to the Santa Sofía del Pacífico Clinic, where the minor received specialized care.
