Voluntary surrender of a member of the ELN before the troops of the National Army

The demobilization campaigns carried out by the troops of the Mechanized Infantry Battalion No. 4 in the municipality of Norosí, south of Bolívar conducted to this voluntary presentation.

In the course of a territorial control operation on the village of Sabanas Del Pantano in the municipality of Norosí, south of Bolívar, a person voluntarily surrendered to the soldiers of the Mechanized Infantry Battalion No. 4, of the Joint Task Force Marte, expressing his will to take advantage of the Humanitarian Assistance Program for the demobilized.

This person had reportedly been a member of the Luis José Solano Sepúlveda front of the organized armed group ELN, an organization that commits crimes in the south of the Department of Bolivar, for two years. At the time of his presentation he informed the National Army of his intentions to rejoin civil society and start a new life with his family and under the law. In the same way, this person surrendered important war material and military accessories, including a rifle, cartridges, magazines and a multipurpose vest.

Apparently, within the criminal operations exercised by this person there are the collection of money from extortion, Criminal Intelligence, coercion and threats to civilians, so with this voluntary presentation the Joint Task Force MARTE manages to hit once again the armed structure of the ELN and its criminal capacity in this region of the country.

HOMELAND, HONOR, LOYALTY.
